Object Matrix, provider of trusted file based and nearline storage platforms today announces the sale of a MatrixStore cluster and Interconnect, the Interplay archive plugin, to Soho based Directors Cut Films.

With more of our client's projects being file based from ingest to delivery we have been keeping an eye on the broadcast technology market for integrated solutions that allow us to build secure , cost effective and repeatable workflows, stated Andy Nicholson, Technical Director at Directors Cut. MatrixStore from Object Matrix provides us with a trusted storage platform that not only integrates into our current workflow but also has the ability to hook into any future technology platforms we implement.

Implementing a tapeless or file-based workflow has again been highlighted as one of the top challenges facing creative organisations. With a myriad of different formats being ingested on a daily basis and new standards for file delivery being implemented facilities such as Directors Cut are implementing solutions that make that process smoother.

The 60 terabyte MatrixStore solution purchased by Directors Cut will be implemented into an Avid Interplay workflow with content transferred to and from the MatrixStore nearline platform using the InterConnect archive plugin. The complete storage workflow has been supplied by Object Matrix and Avid partner Tyrell.
