GRIFFIN COMMUNICATIONS SELECTS COMBINED MARQUIS AND SGL ARCHIVE OFFERING FOR TV NEWS STATIONS 09 December 2014

SGL, a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has announced a contract win from Griffin Communications', owner of TV stations KOTV News On 6 (Tulsa) and KWTV/News 9 (Oklahoma City). Griffin Communications has purchased Marquis Broadcast's Project Parking archive and restore solution, which will be fully integrated with SGL's existing FlashNet archive system. Griffin Communications reaches over 90 per cent of Oklahoma households via its two TV stations, state-wide radio network, online, and mobile information distribution service.

Marquis Broadcast's Project Parking will provide the Griffin stations with a fast and cost-effective archive and restore process, by creating a complete copy of any Avid project and media onto the FlashNet storage device. By providing a simple vehicle for archiving all media associated with a project, Project Parking enables the stations' Avid operators to archive complete projects safely, quickly and easily between systems within the same facility or between sites.

Project Parking is the smarter way to manage shared edit storage, confirms Chris Steele, Managing Director, Marquis Broadcast. Marquis' solution offers an intuitive toolset to analyse and manage projects and their media to optimise shared storage utilisation. In combination with FlashNet, archiving and subsequent access to stored media will now be made the most straight-forward task possible for Griffin Communications.
