Sony Supplies Over 50 Studio Cameras to RTFB

(14/01/2015) Sony Professional is proud to announce its new collaboration with RTBF (Radio T l vision Belge Francophone the Belgian French-speaking broadcast network) by supplying over 50 studio cameras over the next four years.

Until now, RTBF has worked exclusively with the manufacturer Grass Valley for the products installed in their studios and OB vans. Now, the network has joined forces with Sony and chosen 50 HDC-2570 models, a multi-format HD portable system camera with a digital triax transmission interface, and the HKC-T1500 extension adaptor.

RTBF has opted for this unique solution because it includes the most advanced technologies for studio cameras and offers exceptional image quality, without causing obstructions during mobile use. RTBF members want to be able to use shoulder cameras on a daily basis to obtain exclusive images and videos.

The main benefit for RTBF is using the split camera. The camera operator can carry the compact and lightweight camera head on his or her shoulder, while connecting to the HDC-2570 fixed camera via the extension adaptor, which is located in the motorbike compartment.

The camera operator therefore benefits from a great freedom of movement and is able to capture unique footage, particularly at sporting events such as the Tour de France.

Finally, Sony is proud to strengthen its collaboration with the RTBF network and to furnish the studio with new devices that complement the Sony mixers already in use.
