Domestic Workers, Marijuana Legalization and Police Violence Explored on The Laura Flanders Show in March on Link TV

San Francisco, Calif. - Feb. 24, 2015 - Link TV, the national satellite television network and global content provider, presents THE LAURA FLANDERS SHOW, a weekly public affairs series inviting the worlds most creative thinkers to discuss politics, business and culture, Hosted by former Air America Radio host and best-selling author Laura Flanders, the show airs on Link TV (DirecTV 375 and DISH Network 9410) Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Upcoming guests discuss immigration, drugs and police violence, and include:

AI-JEN POO (Feb. 27) has been organizing immigrant women workers since 1996. As co-director of Caring Across Generations, Poo leads a movement that is reshaping labor and inspiring thousands of care workers, parents, grandparents, grandchildren and lawmakers. In 2000 she co-founded Domestic Workers United, the New York organization that spearheaded the successful passage of the states historic Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in 2010. She received a 2014 MacArthur genius grant and was named to TIMEs list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and Newsweeks 150 Fearless Women list.

AGNES PAREYIO and MONIQUE WILSON (Mar. 6), two leaders of the global womens movement are featured on a special episode dedicated to International Womens Day. Pareyio was named the United Nations in Kenya Person of the Year in 2005. She is the founder and director of two safe houses for girls in Kenya, established for young women and girls fleeing Female Genital Mutilation and early marriage. She has also been a candidate for Kenyan Parliament. Wilson played the lead in the hit musical Ms. Saigon, and is now the Director of International Affairs of the Gabriela Womens Party, a national alliance of grassroots womens organizations in the Philippines.

JOHANN HARI (Mar. 13) discusses marijuana legalization in the U.S., and asks if we are finally entering the last days of the War on Drugs. Hari had an early start as an op-ed columnist for The Independent at 23. Since then, he has written for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Guardian, Le Monde, Slate, New Republic and The Nation among others. His new book, Chasing The Scream, is a bracing look inside the war on drugs. This episode also features a video report on Stanley Cohen, a radical lawyer facing retribution from the U.S. government.

ALICIA GARZA (Mar. 20), one of the founders of Black Lives Matter, gives an inside look into the movement against police violence.

JESSE HAGOPIAN (Mar. 27) presents a critical exploration of education reform in conversation with a teacher that helped win a fight against standardized testing in Seattle.
