The Production Music Awards (PMA) have announced that submissions are now officially open ahead of this year's ceremony at the spectacular Bloomsbury Big Top, London on Thursday 19 November 2026.

Now entering its 12th year - and marking the first year under the ownership of Joseph Lever and Oli Bartlam of Full Fat Events - the Production Music Awards continues its mission of recognising excellence across composition, sync and industry achievement, celebrating the composers, production music libraries and creative professionals shaping the future of music for media. The categories for this year's event remain broadly consistent with previous years, maintaining the structure and recognition areas that have become central to the awards whilst introducing several subtle refinements informed by evolving creative trends.

Among the updates for 2026 is the introduction of a brand new sync category: Best Use of Production Music in Gaming, recognising exceptional integration of production music within video games and game trailers, where music plays a vital role in enhancing immersion, storytelling and player experience. The Awards will also introduce Best Use of Production Music in Television Entertainment, a category celebrating outstanding use of Production Music across reality, competition and light entertainment TV formats.

Alongside the category updates, the Composer Spotlight Award will return for 2026, continuing its role in championing emerging talent within Production Music and helping create meaningful connections between rising composers and leading production music libraries.

As Production Music continues to evolve, so too must the Awards. Weve worked hard to retain the strong foundations, standards and credibility set by our founder Richard Canavan and categories the industry knows, whilst making subtle updates that reflect changing creative opportunities and emerging areas of sync, upon consulting with the sector. The Impact Award (in association with Harvest) will recognise an individual, company or initiative that has made a meaningful contribution to the Production Music industry. It was introduced in 2025, with industry icon Jenny Oakes - Managing Director of JW Media Music - being the first recipient. It is free to nominate someone to be considered for the Impact Award.

Composers are the lifeblood of the industry and Richard's founding vision for this event was to celebrate their craft, so I am proud to continue supporting that pursuit.
