Africas Alternative Media Channel OFIVE TV Joins AMOS-5 Ku-band Neighborhood

Tel Aviv 12 November 2012: Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, today announced that OFIVE TV, Africas first international Alternative TV network, is now a part of the French broadcast bouquet on the AMOS-5 communications satellite located at 17E. SatLink Communications is providing the TV distribution platform on the satellite.

OFIVE TV, headquartered in Paris with broadcasts to over 60 countries world-wide, offers 24-hour music television programming consisting of music videos, artist interviews, documentaries, TV shows, movies, sports, and general entertainment. Its viewers are primarily young people seeking authentic, independent music, and a varied non-mainstream fashion sensibility and alternative lifestyles.

From its 17E orbital position, AMOS-5 provides powerful C-band and Ku-band beams for supplying broadcast and data services to the entire African continent. The satellite began commercial operations in January 2012 and is becoming a prime carrier of African satellite communications traffic in both broadcast and data services.
