With this new release Colorfront continues to raise the quality bar, extend realtime 4K dailies capabilities, and broaden the reputation of On-Set Dailies as the dominant solution with the most advanced feature set of any dailies product. Colorfront On-Set Dailies delivers an all-embracing approach to digital dailies workflow. It integrates production-proven tools for dailies work - including playback and sync, QC, color grading, audio and metadata management - with state-of-the-art color and image science, and the delivery of simultaneous faster-than-realtime deliverables in all common file formats. Colorfront is breaking new ground by enabling cinematographers to move beyond traditional HD monitoring and review, and to start working with 3K, 4K and 5K RAW material in post-ready 4K quality to realize their creative vision - either on-set, near-set, or at their favorite facility. The new Summer 2012 release extends these capabilities by delivering unprecedented rendering speeds, the first realtime 4K IIF/ACES workflow, live on-set grading, integrated HD dailies on iPad, and on-set verified copying and archiving. Colorfront On-Set Dailies Summer 2012 release supports the new HP Z820 16-core workstation, and the latest NVIDIA Kepler GPU CUDA processing. This combination delivers in excess of 100FPS parallel rendering for multiple deliverables, faster than real-time JPEG2000 MXF DCP and IMF deliverables, realtime 4K Canon C500 RAW, ARRIRAW 4K de-Bayer and 4K F65RAW, plus Avid DNxHD 444 support and Sony SRFile (SStP) playback/encoding. It also substantially speeds-up customers' existing systems. The new release also comes with On-Set Live!, a grading capability which uses the live HD-SDI feed to enable ACS-CDL or ARRI Look-compliant color corrections on a broadcast monitor. Other key features include dailies review in full HD resolution on the new iPad, and rapid checksum verified archiving of material to LTO5 on-set for production security. Colorfront is a champion of IIF/ACES, developed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Science and Technology Council to establish a standard format to maintain color accuracy for digital production and post.
