Cable operators Montecable and Nuevo Siglo rolling out VOD services using OTT; secured by Conax Contego Unite

Leading Uruguay operators deploying Hybrid DVB-C/IP Over-the-Top platform to bring unique market differentiating services like VOD and other On Demand services using Conax Contego Unite and Conax Secure Clients DRM solution

Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 24th, 2013: NexTV South America Summit Conax, a leading global provider of solutions for securing multi-device and digital video content distribution, today announced that Uruguay pay-TV operators Montecable and Nuevo Siglo are deploying content security solution Conax Contego Unite and Conax Secure Clients to enable the addition of advanced Over-the-Top multiscreen, multi-network video and content consumption services. The operators are in commercial deployment with security partner Conax and middleware provider Cubiware in a joint project led by system integrator Bold MSS to roll out the new, advanced OTT broadband services. The Hybrid OTT solution provides the Uruguay operators with a highly cost efficient and unique market differentiator for offering value-added services for the end consumer. The new Conax Security platform deployed for provisioning the Hybrid DVB-C/P solution will run in simulcrypt with a legacy security platform.

The revolutionary new platform will enable the operators to offer a unique consumer experience while adding new features and solutions, such as a bouquet of value-added, secure OTT services, VOD, Live TV, and multiscreen offerings for broadband-savvy consumers looking to take advantage of flexible content consumption.

The client security for the operation is based on Conax Secure Client - a Conax security hardened implementation of Microsoft PlayReady DRM for tablets, smartphones and STBs. This provides Nuevo Siglo and Montecable with the highest security level available for OTT services today.
