ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE WATCHER Naomi Watts and Bobby Canavale star as Nora and Dean Brannock in The Watcher. The Watcher is a seven-episode mystery thriller series following a couple that exhausts their savings to purchase their dream home in the suburbs.

However, after moving in, the Brannocks receive mysterious letters from The Watcher, who promises to keep a constant eye on the home and its new residents. The Brannocks are determined to find who the Watcher is, as more and more unsettling incidents befall the family, the list of suspects grows.

Ryan Murphy's latest nail-biter follows Dean (Bobby Cannavale) and Nora Brannock (Naomi Watts), a couple who pour their life savings into their dream home at 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey. However, as soon as the Brannocks close on their sprawling estate, they realise that their new neighbours aren't exactly giving them a warm welcome, according to Netflix.

IS THE WATCHER' BASED ON A TRUE STORY? The Watcher is actually based on a true story. The series is based on a story published in the New York Magazine in 2018, titled The Haunting of a Dream House by Reeves Wiedeman.

The first letter was welcoming and friendly but the letters that followed were increasingly hostile and focused on the family's three young children. The Broaddus family felt unsafe. So, they employed the help of local law enforcement to find out who was sending the threatening letters.
