The NFVF announce successful Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme applicants

A big congratulations to the PESP stream 2,3 and 4 approved applicants

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), tasked by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) to administer the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP), aimed at supporting the audio-visual industry have announced the approved applicants for streams 2,3 and 4.

Following intense virtual sessions and funding workshops in underserviced Provinces, the NFVF is proud to announce that the programme garnered national reach with applicants from all 9 provinces who comprise of various members of the industry which also includes the youth, women, and people living with disabilities.

For streams 2,3 and 4, a total, 280 submissions were received, 81 applicants have been approved and an estimated 2580 jobs to be created. Submissions were reviewed by expert independent panellists and scored based on each stream's criterion with a final approval made by the NFVF Council. With an expectation of 8000 jobs to be created from an allocation of R140 million, the rest of the envisaged numbers are expected to be created in Stream 1.

A big congratulations to the approved PESP applicants and whilst we experienced teething problems with endless delays, we are thankful for the confidence shown in the NFVF by the department and immensely proud of the work of all the independent panellists that adjudicated all the streams. commented NFVF CEO Makhosazana Khanyile.

Please note that all successful projects for stream 1 will be published on our website at a later stage. A date will soon be confirmed with all applicants.
