Winners of the 8 Mar del Plata Film Festival announced!

The 28th Mar del Plata International Film Festival was given closure this Saturday during a ceremony held at the Auditorium Theater where the winners for both the official and unofficial awards were announced. The Festival this year held a record of 100,000 moviegoers from all over the world, with over 400 movies screening.

The undisputed winner this year was the Venezuelan The Golden Cage (La Jaula de Oro), winning Best Movie, People's Choice, Critic's Choice and Best Photography. Venezuelan Pelo Malo (Bad Hair) won Best Director and Best Screenplay, and The Utility of a Magazine Rack (La utilidad de un revistero) won 2 Best Argentine Director awards (official and unofficial). Festival favorite Jos Campusano won 3 unofficial festival awards for his new movie Ghosts of the Road (Fantasmas de la ruta).

During the ceremony Liliana Mazure reiterated the end of her term as INCAA (National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts) president.
