ree CBC ers Become Goodmon Fellows After Fall Personal Leadership Training

CBC'ers and other Leadership Triangle graduates and their guests enjoy a luncheon in Chapel Hill to conclude the fall 2014 program on Thursday, December 11th.

Three CBC'ers were among the 20+ new Goodmon Fellows at the Leadership Triangle graduation on Thursday, December 4, 2014. ATC Assistant Property Manager Courtney Coyle, FOX 50 Account Executive Doug Dickman, and WRAL-TV Assistant Business Manager Tonya Faison all took part in Leadership Triangle's Personal Leadership Development during several months in the fall.

The updated Transforming Leaders program debuted under the Personal Leadership Development umbrella last fall. Participants worked individually with coaches and together as a group on projects of their choosing. The program includes four key instructional tools: instruction, reflection, coaching and application.

FOX 50 Director of Local & New Media Sales Niel Sollod, FOX 50 Director of Sales Matt Donegan and Corporate Vice President of Human Resources Angie Emerline served as coaches in the program. They are all also Goodmon Fellows themselves.

The graduation ceremony took place at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill at noon. Mabel Miguel, Professor of Organizational Behavior at the school, delivered the keynote for the event.

Dickman was offered the opportunity to take the class after winning the FOX 50 Salesperson of the Year for 2013.

It was a great experience to meet and learn from great teachers as well as fellow students from all walks of industry, he said of the program.

He worked with coach Kerri Patterson, Independent Consultant with the N.C. State Executive Advisory Board.

We worked to create a purpose statement and leadership philosophy both were extremely self-reflective and will be valuable in my career at CBC, said Dickman.

He would definitely recommend the program to others.

100% recommend, Dickman said. I am thankful that my managers allowed me to dedicate the time to learn and grow.
