Just Films calls for families to be part of documentary

Just Films would like to film your financially successful, Cape Town based family, for a heartwarming documentary project called, How We Live. Single parent, couple or polygamous. Adopted / biological / step / half kids? Grandparents? Aunties and uncles? Pets?

And does your family live on about R1-million per year or more?

How We Live is a gentle observational film that shows how families from different income groups play, work and live in Cape Town. Through this film, we hope audiences will connect with people they might never have meaningfully engaged with before, thereby crossing class barriers and fostering empathy and understanding.

Weve already filmed two wonderful families, and are now seeking a third. If your family lives on about R1-million per year or more, and you're open to having your day-to-day life filmed, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!

- Observational documentary about three families from different income groups living their day-to-day lives.

WHAT KIND OF FAMILY IS JUST FILMS LOOKING FOR RIGHT NOW?

Wealthy (the family should live on at least R1-million per year, and own valuable assets - eg. a property in a well-to-do area of Cape Town)

WHATS IN IT FOR THE FAMILY?

FUN: We hope people who enjoy the arts, and filmmaking, will enjoy the process of being part of a film. The three families are the stars of the show, and, as such, you would be invited as VIP guests to screenings.

BE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER: The underlying theme of the film is about connecting across barriers. If fostering empathy and understanding amongst people is in line with your familys values, and you want to help reach and touch audiences in a positive way, this film is for you

WHAT WOULD BE EXPECTED OF MY FAMILY?

At first we'd do a test shoot so that you can experience what it's like to be filmed, before committing to the longer project. A friendly person will contact you to make the initial introductions. Then, we will send a small film crew (usually 2 people) to film your family for a few hours doing the same stuff you do every day: Having breakfast; Dropping the kids at school (if you have kids); Driving to work, hobbies - that kind of thing. There will be no interviews. Nobody will need to perform. Your family simply needs to live, and allow us to observe you live your normal lives.

After that, if your family agrees to continue with the longer project, well discuss how best to move forward, together.
