Olympic Gold medallist and World Time Trial Champion Grace Brown joins SBS commentary team for Spring Classics Races

SBS is excited to announce that Paris Olympic Gold medallist and reigning 2024 World Champion Grace Brown is joining Australia's Home of Cycling. She will make her much anticipated commentary debut for the 2025 Spring Classic Races which commence on Sunday 6 April, broadcast live and free on SBS On Demand and VICELAND.
Arguably Australia's most accomplished female road cyclist, Brown retired after her historic 2024 season in which she won three of the most prestigious titles in road cycling - the Olympic gold medal and world title in the individual time trial, as well as the Spring Classic Liege- Bastogne -Liege. She returns this year to the famously testing roads of Belgium and northern France not in the saddle but in the SBS commentary box, where her extensive knowledge of these historic races will be available to fans tuning into SBS' renowned cycling coverage.
Joining Brown will be esteemed SBS cycling commentators dual-Australian road national champion Gracie Elvin and Australian national time trial champion Dr. Bridie O'Donnell. These three experts will guide SBS viewers throughthe Tour of Flanders Women's race and the Paris-Roubaix Femmes Avec Zwift, while Grace Brown will also be commentating on the men's and women's Liege-Bastogne-Liege races. The men's Tour of Flanders race will be commentated by Australia's voice of cycling' Matthew Keenan, former professional road racing cyclist Mitch Docker, and former triathlete Matilda Raynolds.
Grace Brown said: I'm thrilled to be joining the SBS commentary team for select Spring Classics races! Commentating is an incredible opportunity to stay connected to the sport and tap into some of the adrenaline I miss from racing. I love the excitement of the races and genuinely enjoy talking about them. As I navigate this new chapter after my racing career, finding my voice in the media space is an exciting challenge, and I'm eager to keep learning and growing.
The Spring Classics will serve as a warm-up for cycling fans across the country as they prepare for the Grand Tours on SBS, Australia's Home of Cycling. The Giro d'Italia will begin with the fight for the maillot rosa from Friday 9 May, followed by the world's biggest annual sporting event, the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, where the world's best cyclists will battle it out for the titles. The Grand Tours will then conclude with La Vuelta a Espa a, finishing off an incredible season of cycling, in which fans will be able to make a thrilling journey through Europe alongside their favourite riders via SBS' extensive broadcast offering.
