Chemotherapy for cancer patients offers hope but it is also a stressful experience. The ability to fight tumours is positive, but the aggressive therapy is hard on the body and mind. The ZEISS cinemizer OLED 3D multimedia glasses offer patients an effective distraction during treatment and can gently counteract side-effects such as nausea. cinemizer product manager Franz Troppenhagen explained, "Cancer patients must regularly submit to stressful treatments, often several hours at a time while the drugs are administered by infusion. The cinemizer OLED allows the patient to be distanced from the clinical setting so they can relax with a soothing or entertaining movie".

The use of multimedia glasses can also help with the side-effects of drug treatment typical of chemotherapy, such as nausea and exhaustion. In some cases it can even contribute to the reduction of those side-effects. The cinemizer OLED offers significant value for patients and physicians in other complex medical treatments too. The portable 3D display can help to bridge the long duration of treatment effectively, even with several hours of dialysis. It is especially helpful for children, as the cinemizer OLED offers an unusual and fun experience which helps to tackle the fear, whether in dialysis or chemotherapy.

The battery-powered multimedia glasses are ergonomically designed, easy to clean and weigh just 80 grams on the nose. They can be used with virtually any video source using HDMI or Apple composite cable adapter and taken into treatment rooms, as they take up very little space. A separately available mask (the eyeshield) can additionally seal off the viewer from their surroundings, which is helpful if those surroundings can cause stress.
