New Additions to Lineup of Vice Presidents at Capitol Broadcasting

Over the past year, Capitol Broadcasting Company has had multiple changes in leadership due to retirement of several long-time company Vice Presidents.

VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Tim Steele

Tim Steele arrived at Capitol Broadcasting at the end of March 2023, taking over for Dan McGrath, who retired after 20 years at CBC.

Steele came to CBC from Sports Endeavors, Inc. in Hillsborough where he spent almost a decade, ultimately earning promotion to Chief Financial Officer. He has spent a career in finance that ranged from PricewaterhouseCoopers, among others.

Steele is a graduate of NC State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Finance. He then immediately traveled down the Tobacco Road to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a Master of Accounting with an Audit concentration.

VICE PRESIDENT of CBC RADIO

Brian Grube

Brian Grube took over the reigns at CBC Radio after the retirement of Brian Maloney, who spent the final 13 of his 43-year radio career at Capitol Broadcasting. .

Grube joined CBC in 2009 as Regional/National Sales Manager. He was promoted to Local Sales Manager in 2015, then to Radio Sales Director in 2017. As Maloney retired, Grube was tapped as the new General Manager of CBC's Radio divisions, which includes MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM, 99.9 The Fan, 620 The Buzz and various sports radio stations all in Raleigh, as well as the cluster of radio stations under CBC's Sunrise Broadcasting umbrella in Wilmington.

During his first year in that leadership role, Grube and his team launched both a new local afternoon drive show and local morning show on The Fan, a new midday show on MIX, a new app on MIX, and started work on an app for That Station. He also created and filled a new Radio Digital Content Manager position, continued to grow podcast audience AND revenue, crossed a threshold toward monetizing our YouTube content, and secured partnerships with 5 sports betting companies.

Those accomplishments and his overall excellence in leadership earned Grube promotion to Vice President of CBC's Radio Division in February 2024.

VICE PRESIDENT of HUMAN RESOURCES

Pam Genske

Pam Genske, the newest member of the trio, arrived at CBC at the end of January 2024. She came in to replace Angie Emerline, who wanted to step back from the demands of the role after 29 years at Capitol Broadcasting, the final 13 as Vice President of Human Resources. Emerline began as a part-time member of the WRAL-TV crew during college, joined the company full-time in HR after graduation, and continued her rise through the department over the ensuing decades.

Genske has a vast background of experience in HR leadership roles across a variety of companies-everything from animal ag technology to manufacturing, distribution and insurance, which suits her well for the very diverse group of companies that comprise CBC.

She has worked for organizations such as Chubb and Son, Prudential Financial, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island as well as Ahold Delhaize.

Her depth of experience includes extensive work in learning and development.

A native of Virginia Beach, VA, Genske earned her bachelor's degree in management from Virginia Wesleyan University and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy University. Pam has obtained her SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications from the Society of Human Resources Management and Human Resource Certification Institute, respectively.
