Meta has announced a collaboration with James Cameron's Lightstorm Vision.

Under the agreement, Meta Quest will become Lightstorm Vision's exclusive MR (mixed reality) hardware platform, scaling the creation of 3D entertainment including live sports, concerts, feature films and TV series.
Following growth in the use of virtual and mixed reality headsets, both parties said they were committed to increasing the availability of tooling, including AI, to content creators, enabling them to open up exciting new possibilities for immersive storytelling.
Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of Titanic and Avatar, said the partnership was, Fantastic news Announcing a comprehensive, multi-year partnership with Meta to revolutionise ALL visual media. Over three decades, Cameron and Lightstorm Vision have developed a strong reputation for 3D technology and stereoscopy. Earlier this year, the director gave his support to the Marlow Film Studios proposals, suggesting the site could become a European based for his LIGHTSTORM 3D company,
The partnership will enable Meta to leverage Lightstorm Vision's technology and production techniques, and the company noted Cameron's membership of Stability AI's board of directors, highlighting his unique position to contribute to the thoughtful and responsible use of AI in this space, at a time when creators are voicing concerns over the expansion of generative AI in the industry.
