Nordic Industrial Park selected as provincial international industrial cooperative park

It is learned from Jiaochuan Street of Zhenhai District and Zhenhai Economic and Technological Development Zone that the Nordic Industrial Park in Zhenhai District has been selected as one of the first provincial international industrial cooperative parks, being the only one park in Ningbo to be selected.

To implement the series requirements on opening-up and innovation by the State Council and the provincial government, Zhejiang Province has devoted in the cultivation of a group of international industrial cooperative parks since 2014. The construction work of the parks were officially launched at the beginning of this year. By the end of August, 21 development zones had applied for the international industrial cooperative parks, and upon assessment, ten of them were selected eventually.

The Nordic Industrial Park, located to the east of the Mingzhou Bridge and the north of Ningzhen Road, was established in 2002. As the first industrial park in China to be initialed by foreign investor and managed by foreign management team, the park has received ambassadors, consul generals, counselors and business delegations from Nordic countries. After years development, it has become an important platform for Nordic SMEs to land in China and an important "bridge" for foreign trade cooperation in Ningbo and even in Zhejiang Province.

Last year, the park realized a total industrial output value of 1.65 billion yuan, leading to a total output value of over three billion yuan for the upstream and downstream industrial chains. According to a person in charge from the park, it will aim at fostering such enterprises with high value-added products as marine exploration, oil pipelines and drilling platforms, by introducing and supporting a group of technological achievements and projects from Nordic universities, technological institutions and quality enterprises, and by 2017, the parks industrial output value will exceed two billion yuan.

The park is next to the Qingshupu Station of the Metro Line No.2, thus the opening of the line will greatly enhance the parks location value, bringing greater advantages in business attraction. The park also plans to explore the new development space by developing the third industry on the basis of the existing business building economy.

Selected as a provincial international industrial cooperative park, the Nordic Industrial Park will gain more opportunities in terms of business attraction and financial support in the following couple of years. According to some related personnel, the park will take the opportunity to strengthen its overall international cooperation and develop new advantages in opening up to the outside world, in the hope of building a world-class industrial park with greater opening up level, better industrial structure, stronger innovation capacity, better international exchange channel and more efficient comprehensive services.
