RTVE shares his vision of the 5G applied to media in the 5G Forum Over the course of 5G Forum, Director of technology strategy and innovation Digital of RTVE, Pere Vila, discusses the vision of the Corporation about this technology and the implication of RTVE in its development.

At 5g Forum that takes place today and tomorrow in the Polo Digital Content M laga with the participation of the most important agents, companies and multinationals involved in their development in the Iberian peninsula we have analyzed different aspects of the impact of the new networks in various industries... among them, the audiovisual.

Pere Vila, from address digital innovation and technological strategy of RTVEHe has shared with professionals who have been brought together in the 5 G Forum vision of the public corporation with respect to this new technology and its application to the broadcast.

RTVE has begun processing approach to the 5G in order to acquire knowledge and experiences on this technology in relation to the contribution of content (camera connected) and support production (processes in the cloud).

Vila remarked that "with the 4G, there were two problems: the bitrate and have never secure the ability to exit by supersaturation of the cells". The 5G could radically change this situation.

As to distribution of contents is concerned, RTVE aims to check the effect of the 5 G. "the question of the production will be improvements but in distribution, there are two issues on the table: la carte on-demand content;" and how we are going to do the broadcast, the broadcast.

With regard to the relationship between traditional television and the telcos in terms of bandwidth optimization, Pere Vila has reviewed the situation in different European countries. Pere Vila has shared some experiences than from the Chair of RTVE together with the Universidad Polit cnica de Madrid they are engaged in analyzing applications for broadcasting of radio and television. The school Superior of engineers of telecommunications of the Polytechnic University of Madrid is already beginning to plan the first experiences.

Spanish television is also collaborating with the project 5g Media along with other Spanish and European operators such as Telef nicas face to take the pulse of the possibilities that opens the 5 G for acquisition, remote production and distribution of content.

"Wed like this year to attach a camera to a 5G network and test the possibilities that opens the concept of connected camera and processes on the edge", has recognized.
