The Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) are pleased to announce finalists for the 2019 SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA (CSMAs).
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the 11th-annual College Sports Media Awards ceremony on May 30 at the SVG College Summit at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta.
This year's ceremony will be hosted by Jen Lada. The ESPN reporter and host is a fixture on College GameDay and other premiere ESPN college sports programming. She follows in a long line of prestigious CSMA hosts, including ESPN's Tom Rinaldi and Rece Davis, Fox Sports' Joel Klatt, and NCAA.com and BTN's Andy Katz.
This year, in order to recognize the growth of digital platforms and the impact they have on college sports production, we created a separate division for conferences offices and other governing bodies. In addition there has been prolific growth an explosion really on reliance on school-produced live production and features or series for both free and subscription platforms, says Tom Buffolano, chairman of the SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA. Consumer desire for college sports is only growing and the schools have become the main producer of that content. This is well represented in the body of work submitted for the 2019 College Sports Media Awards.
Representing a variety of college athletic departments, conference offices, professional networks, production companies, and students, finalists are named across four divisions in a total of 20 categories.
