Appear launches include XM estate management and new X Platform processing enhancements to add density for next-generation hybrid & IP workflows, X5 is also now generally available extending broadcast-grade contribution to compact deployments

Appear ASA (Appear, OSE: APR), a global leader in live production technology, today announced the strategic expansion of its X Platform at NAB Show 2026 (Las Vegas, Booth W1531), introducing Appear XM, a new estate management solution, highlighting the general availability and early deployments of both the Appear X5, and the SIx300 SDI/IP gateway module.

NAB sees the launch of Appear XM, a self-hosted management tool designed to simplify day-to-day operations across growing X Platform estates. As deployments scale from a handful of chassis to dozens or hundreds, broadcasters are often forced to rely on fragmented tools, manual processes and limited estate-wide visibility. Appear XM addresses that challenge with a secure, centralised interface giving operators and engineers a unified view of their deployment, helping reduce configuration errors, avoid version mismatches, speed up troubleshooting and lower operational overhead.

NAB also sees Appear make X5 generally available. Extending broadcast-grade contribution to deployments such as venues, flypacks, OB trucks, regional sites and pop-up studios, X5 gives customers a simpler way to apply the same operational model across both high-end and distributed workflows.

X5 includes AVC & HEVC encoding and decoding, enabling edge contribution and local monitoring workflows, and TS and SRT I/O, with support for TSoIP, seamless ST 2022-7 protection, and ST 2022-1 FEC for reliable transport. Advanced audio processing options include Dolby D/D+ encode/decode, Dolby E decode, and a TCP API for SCTE-104 insertion.

Continuing the investment in X Platform media processing, Appear enable higher-density capabilities for live production environments. A key highlight is the new SIx300 SDI/IP gateway module, designed to support both JPEG 2000 and JPEG XS on a single reconfigurable module. This gives rights holders, leagues, broadcasters, and service providers a practical path to ultra-low-latency IP workflows while maintaining compatibility with existing infrastructure and mixed operating environments. The X Platform is engineered for operational resilience and integration into modern broadcast workflows; it includes comprehensive API that supports full remote management and integration with third-party environments such as Prometheus metrics.

The SIx300 module supports up to 8 HD channels or 2 UHD streams with sub-frame latency in JPEG XS mode. It also features SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022-7 and NMOS IS-04/05, helping customers build resilient hybrid SDI/IP workflows with the density and performance required for demanding live production.

Together, these additions reinforce X Platform as a unified foundation for live media transport and processing. The X Platform supports high-profile live events and customer workflows in over 100 countries, it is deployed at leading media organizations including NBCUniversal, PSSI, Corus Entertainment and beIN, among others.

Appear's continuing investment in the X Platform aligns to customer demand as deployments support the most demanding requirements for live events globally.
