CASTING STARTS TODAY!

DUBLIN, 20th May 2022 Toy Show The Musical is giving young girls the chance to play the lead role in this exciting new stage show opening December 10th at The Convention Centre Dublin. Starting today, casting applications are now open on Toy Show The Musical's website http://www.rte.ie/toyshowthemusical . This could be the start of someone's musical theatre career with the opportunity of a lifetime to star as Nell, the lead role in this brand-new original Irish musical.

Toy Show The Musical's world famous Casting Director Maureen Hughes (Once, The Butcher Boy, Love/Hate, Raw, Charlie) is looking for the lead role which is a character called Nell. Nell is a bright and brilliant 12-year-old girl with a wonderful spirit and great singing and dancing skills! Auditionee's should be between the ages of 11-16 with a playing age of 12 years old.

The application process is very straightforward. Record a short video, fill in the application form and hit submit, it's that simple!

Casting Director Maureen Hughes and show Director S im Campbell will be reviewing the application videos.

They want to see applicants on video:

singing a verse and chorus of a song of their choice.

telling them a bit about themself including any experience they may have in singing, acting, dancing, playing an instrument

or any interesting hobbies or party pieces.

Successful applicants will then be shortlisted for an in-person audition which will held in June at a venue in Dublin city centre. Auditionee's will meet Maureen Hughes and perform a monologue or short poem plus they will be asked to sing.

This Christmas, Toy Show The Musical will bring the magic of The Late Late Toy Show to the theatre stage for the very first time. Step inside one little girl's Toy Show adventure as she and her family prepare for the biggest night of their lives! It's a story about family, tradition and how the magic of the Toy Show brings the whole world together each year for one truly amazing night. Full of fun, laughter and love we see how The Toy Show allows children to teach us that the magic they need to change their world already exists within them!
