Former wife of the Diep City creator Mandla Ngcongwane, Tumi Masemola, has been allegedly ordered to pay her tax debt of over R1.3 million or face having her assets sold if she fails to make use of the payment methods prescribed by the revenue collector, the South African Revenue Service.

According to City Press, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) has issued a final letter of demand against the actress and she only has ten (10) days to respond to the letter.

TUMI COULD ALLEGEDLY LOSE HER ASSESTS In a letter that was seen by the publication, SARS states that Tumi she has an outstanding debt amounting to R1 343 227 and is given 10 business days to respond to the letter or she could encounter a civil lawsuit being entered against her.

When approached for comment on the matter, Tumi simply said: How is this of your business? I don't know what you are talking about .

This is not the first time Tumi has reportedly been knee-deep in tax debt. Last year, Sunday World reported that the mother of two was slapped with a R1.4 million tax bill on 21 September 2021.

According to the judgment obtained by SARS in the Joburg High Court, Masemola, the lead singer of urban pop group Gang of Instrumental, owed SARS over R660 000 in unpaid personal income tax [she] is also on the verge of losing her assets after ignoring SARS's final letter of demand, the publication said.

DESMOND DUBE IN TAX SCANDAL? Another actor and comedian who allegedly owes the Tax Man is Desmond Dube who has allegedly been issued with a letter of demand by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) to settle over R1.4 million in unpaid taxes.

City Press revealed that the comedian and How To Ruin Christmas actor was issued with the letter last week, which stipulates that he has an outstanding tax bill of R1.4 million. The publication added that Dube has 10 business days to settle the R1 432 675.61 debt.
