WeVideo adds new Ken Burns, 7 more languages and crop, rotate, scale & flip

Today we're announcing a bunch of improvements in our latest update to WeVideo Editor. You told us that Ken Burns could be improved, so we completely redesigned it from scratch and made it easier to use for everyone. We also have advanced transform controls available to every Storyteller. Both features are now available in Storyboard and Timeline modes. Our team also worked hard to translate the editor in 8 different languages, add intuitive help with new video tutorials and slash as many bugs as possible.

Ken Burns effect

Being one of the most requested features, we really wanted to make this one right. We started from scratch with the UI and algorithm and made it easy, yet powerful. Now, you can simply adjust Start and End frames, and we'll do the magic for you. The new Ken Burns effect can be applied on both still images and videos. The Ken Burns effect is located under the FX tab, and it's now available in all editing modes.

Crop, rotate, scale and flip

Until now, only paid members had the convenience to use some of the advanced editing controls - Fit to screen, Fit to frame, Scale and Position. Now, we made those controls available to everyone and in all editing modes. So now you can crop, scale, rotate and flip images and videos in both Storyboard and Timeline mode.

Multi-language support

We had numerous requests from people all over the world to translate the editor in their native language. It's not an easy task, but we really want to make the product as accessible as possible. We are now glad to announce that WeVideo Editor is translated in 8 languages - English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Russian, Japanese and Arabic.

More intuitive help

If you ever get lost or need quick help, click on the help icon in the footer or just type and quickly search for a solution. We're constantly adding new short video tutorials that you can learn from - whether it's about how to change your editing mode or how to apply and tweak Ken Burns effect on your media.

Performance and stability improvements We've fixed several minor issues to make your experience smoother and trouble-free. We'll continue to monitor the logs and your invaluable feedback.
