Former White House intern and activist Monica Lewinsky has called on American singer Beyonc to change the lyrics of her 2014 song, Partition. This comes after the 28-time Grammy winner was labelled ableist for using an offensive term in Heated, a song from her recently-released seventh studio album, Renaissance.

MONICA LEWINSKY WANTS BEYONC TO CHANGE PARTITION' LYRIC Partition, forms part of Beyonc 's self-titled album released in November 2014. In the song, the 40-year-old makes reference to an alleged affair between former United States president Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. The affair, which reportedly lasted two years, led to Clinton's impeachment in 1998.

Taking to Twitter on Monday 1 August, Monica Lewinsky responded to news that Beyonc would remove the ableist lyric from Heated .

BEYONC REMOVES ABELIST FOR HEATED' LYRICS Scoop, a disability equality charity in England, slammed Beyonc for using the word sp*zz in her song, Heated, from her new album, Renaissance.

Disabled people's experiences are not fodder for song lyrics. Bey, this word does NOT need a renaissance. We hope you'll follow Lizzo's example. The disabled community is tired of telling people to do better, wrote Scope.

The singer's team confirmed that the word would be dropped from the song.

The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced, read a part of the statement.
