Bluefish444, announced that it has developed Windows 4K and Mac OSX 2K SDI preview for ASSIMILATE SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab V8. Bluefish444 has collaborated with ASSIMILATE to develop a freely available plug-in to the Epoch range of video cards including the Epoch | 4K Supernova & Epoch | 4K Supernova S+. Bluefish444 video cards running on Windows will support the following new 4K SDI previews and features from within SCRATCH and Lab V8:
3840 x 2160 @ 48, 50, 59 & 60fps
Improved SDI preview performance from 16-bit sources
2048 x 1080 12-bit @ 24 fps
Improved SDI preview performance from RAW sources
Bluefish444 demonstrated 4K 60p YUV SDI preview in SCRATCH V8 at NAB 2014 utilizing a TV Logic 4K 10-bit SDI broadcast monitor.
With the release of SCRATCH & SCRATCH LAB v8 on Windows, Bluefish444 is able to offer ASSIMILATE DI artists 4K SDI preview between 48fps to 60fps using Epoch | 4K Supernova, said Tom Lithgow Product Specialist. The real-time performance and native Windows QuickTime ProRes encoding in SCRATCH & SCRATCH LAB v8, combined with Epoch | 4K Supernova video cards significantly improve and increase the number of high frame rate DI workflows available to creative professionals.
SCRATCH has built a reputation as the highest performance DI and finishing tool in the industry, said Steve Bannerman, VP of Marketing at ASSIMILATE. SCRATCH artists are constantly pushing the envelope on resolution and frame rate and Bluefish444 technology delivers the SDI performance they crave. The Epoch | 4K Supernova card is an ideal compliment to high-quality 4K SCRATCH workflows.
The Windows & MAC OSX drivers supporting SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab V8 will be available from the Bluefish444 website free of charge in Q2 2014.
