Multi-award winning visual effects house Hydraulx has launched a massive new production stage and camera equipment rental company called Hydraulx Filmz as a new division. The announcement was made today by Hydraulx Owner/Founder Greg Strause.

Based in Playa Vista, CA, the new, multi-million dollar location offers clients a sprawling 40,000 square foot facility with 22,000 square feet of usable sound stage space, 25-foot high ceilings, and giant 60' x 30' green screens. Hydraulx Filmz is also making available for rent significant camera and lens packages, which include nine Red Epic Dragon 6K cameras, four fully stereo-capable camera rigs with matching lenses, and a QTake Video Assist System.
Regarding the launch of his new company, Strause said, We have decided now was a perfect time to expand our business model by launching a stage and equipment rentals business. Our clients have the benefit of us owning everything here-we are literally a one-stop shop' solution to any production need. We have created a truly unique production pipeline, by connecting all the pieces. All of our equipment talks to each other.' We have assembled everything imaginable here under one roof, for any kind of film, TV, commercial, music video, corporate, or multi-media production.
Adds John Duke DuQuesnay, Operations Manager for Hydraulx Filmz, We offer an all-inclusive stage rental, along with an extensive camera and lens department. We can shoot 3D here, and have just added 6K Dragon Sensors for our Red Epic Cameras. We also provide one of the very few QTake Video Assist Systems in Los Angeles. Our company provides the ability for producers and production companies to just walk into our facility and, within an hour's notice, be ready for a full production. A crew can come here, shoot, and leave-they don't have to spend time breaking down, or returning any rental equipment, after end of production.
The new Hydraulx Filmz facility also includes a DI projection theatre, connected via 10 gig fiber to the Internet, for color grading and watching dailies. The site also offers a dressing room, makeup room, three entry bays for loading
materials, and provides ample parking.

Launched in 2002 by brothers Greg and Colin Strause, Hydraulx is a
full-service visual effects house with the versatility to provide high quality visual effects, regardless of the size or scope of the project. The company provides a highly efficient team of talented digital artists who are armed with the latest tools and technology available.
The Strause Brothers are renowned for having experimented with visual effects for decades. Since forming Hydraulx, they have produced VFX for a number of blockbuster films, including Avatar, Benjamin Button, The Social Network, and X-Men: Days of Future Past, among many others. Hydraulx is also currently producing VFX for the three upcoming Warner Bros. films Midnight Special, Into the Storm, and San Andreas, for which Colin Strause is Lead VFX Supervisor.
