These Bald Eagle parents, nicknamed Mr. President and The First Lady, began incubating two eggs in their Tulip Poplar tree nest in the U.S. National Arboretum since February. According to dceaglecam.eagles.org, this pair of Bald Eagles are the first to nest in this specific location since 1947.
D.C. Eagle Cam partners and cooperators (American Eagle Foundation, U.S. Department of Agriculture, D.C. Department of Energy & Environment, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service) are looking for two creative and symbolic names for these eaglets that live up to the names of their parents. Information on how to participate can be found here.

The AEF is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to care for and protect the USA' s living symbol of freedom, the Bald Eagle, and other birds of prey through the four pillars of Education, Re-population, Conservation and Rehabilitation. It was one of the first organizations to use cams over a Bald Eagle nest more than a decade ago - albeit the technology was nothing like it is today. With the Bald Eagle being such an important icon in American life, symbolizing the pride of the nation, giving the public an up-close, real-time view of its behavior and activity is key for its future care and protection.
