23 July 2015 Two of Britains best-loved actors, BAFTA award-winning Robert Lindsay (My Family, Atlantis) and Maureen Lipman (Coronation Street) lead the cast of Golds new three-part scripted comedy series Bull, currently in production for tx. later this year.
Bull is a studio comedy with a unique and quirky sense of humour, featuring the eponymous Rupert Bull (Robert Lindsay), a man who attempts to run his antiques shop aided and hampered in equal measure by his team of dysfunctional staff, Beverley (Maureen Lipman), Faye (Claudia Jessie, Doctors) and Toby (Naz Osmanoglu, Flat TV, Horrible Histories).
The cast also includes Toby Williams (Paddington) and Kevin Eldon (Death Comes to Pemberley) with a guest appearance by Matt Lucas.
Written by first-time sitcom writers Gareth Gwynn and John-Luke Roberts and produced by John Stanley Productions, Bull is directed by Simon Gibney (Horrible Histories, Watson & Oliver) and produced by Jack Cheshire (The Wrong Door, Big Babies). The Executive Producer is Paul Jackson.

What could possibly go wrong in a quintessentially English antiques shop managed by an energetic eccentric and staffed by a bizarre bunch of characters? The answer is quite a lot - and that is the premise for this fast-paced, contemporary sitcom, written with verve by a new writing partnership.
Whether Rupert Bull and his clueless staff are trying to restore Faberge eggs, value Edwardian ball bearings or work on luring in new customers with a creepy window display of dead animals, it always ends in hilarious disaster.
Robert Lindsay is one of our most versatile and funny actors, perfect to lead this cast as the loveable but completely hopeless Bull. We think the Gold audience will fall in love with all these charming, disparate characters, who really are the proverbial bulls in a china shop.
John Stanley Productions was originally set up by award-winning comedy writer and performer Matt Lucas and has since become part of the All3media group. It specialises in high quality comedy and entertainment shows for television and radio, nurturing new comedy talent as well as working to develop programmes with established writers and performers.
Its slate includes up-coming sitcom Marleys Ghosts, also for Gold, Pompidou for BBC2, Relatively Clever for Sky 1, three series for BBC Radio 4 - Chat Show Roulette, Britain V The World and The Casebook of Max and Ivan and in development the television adaptation of its hit BBC Radio Wales sketch series Here Be Dragons.
