NBC Sports is surrounding the 2025 PLAYERS Championship with comprehensive live championship and studio coverage from Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, across NBC, Golf Channel, and Peacock.
The efforts began last night with Golf Central Live From THE PLAYERS at 7 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. Live championship coverage on Golf Channel begins at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday. Live weekend coverage on NBC and Peacock will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 1 p.m. on Sunday. Golf Channel's pre-championship presentation will also offer live coverage of The Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass on Wednesday afternoon, when fan-favorite content creators will square off in a nine-hole competition that concludes on the 17th hole.
The PGA TOUR fleet of production trucks will be at the center of the action for this weekend's PLAYERS championship at TPC Sawgrass.
This year marks the second year with NEP's multi-unit PGA TOUR fleet at the heart of PLAYERS coverage. The Production Control Room unit houses the main production area; Field Acquisition Units 1 and 2 will be home to the EICs as well as to fiber patching, video shading, the A1 area, submix, and the majority of QC for audio; and a Record Flex truck comprises EVS operations, editing, and rules review. Also onsite are two BSI trailers: a main truck, which is now a double-wide, and a hauler providing up to 36 RF camera paths.
More than 60 cameras will be deployed for the tournament, including live drone tracing with enhanced graphics on tees and greens as well as drone coverage of the 16th and 17th holes (which will also have bunker cams). A Flycam will once again run between the 9th and 18th holes.
A tracing drone with enhanced graphic technology will track players' shots from above tees and greens, and a robotic reverse follow camera from behind the 17th tee will push along with tee shots toward the island green, providing an enhanced perspective on the flight of the ball. And, with nice weather forecast for the weekend, coverage from a fixed-wing airplane high above Stadium Course is likely.
NBC Sports' comprehensive coverage of THE PLAYERS will feature roughly 25 championship and studio commentators, including analyst Kevin Kisner joining Dan Hicks in the booth on the weekend, and on-course reporting and analysis by Roger Maltbie and Gary Koch.
Friday afternoon's coverage on Golf Channel will feature the critically acclaimed Happy Hour With Smylie alongside the 17th hole, with commentator and former pro golfer Smylie Kaufman spending time with PGA TOUR stars to get their thoughts on the game and showcase their personalities. TOUR star Justin Thomas and Kisner joined Kaufman last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The flagship event of the PGA TOUR, THE PLAYERS has been played at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course each year since 1982.
