AFP announces new partnership with Getty Images in the United States AFP text and multimedia services will be distributed in the United States by Getty Images.

The global digital media company Getty Images will license AFP's text production, multimedia service Online News' in English and the lifestyle service AFP Relaxnews, which is jointly produced by AFP and the specialist leisure agency Relaxnews.

AFP becomes the only text service to be distributed in the United States by Getty Images.

The extension of our agreement with Getty reinforces our close ties with this prestigious digital media company and shows AFP's desire to strengthen its position in the North American market,' said AFP president Emmanuel Hoog.

The agreement strengthens the strategic alliance between AFP and Getty Images which began 10 years ago with an international photo distribution deal. It was extended in 2009 to include video.

The latest agreement is non-exclusive and AFP will continue to provide its text, multimedia and lifestyle services to its clients in the United States.
