Le Golf National, the course about 45 minutes outside Paris where the Olympic golf men's and women's tournaments take place, was also home to the 2018 Ryder Cup. So both the course-management team and the OBS team producing the events know how to handle a big-time golf event from both a fan and a TV-production perspective.

One difference from the Ryder Cup is that the TV compound is closer to the clubhouse, but many camera positions and technologies deployed there (such as a 640-meter cable-cam run) have returned. There are more Top Tracers at the tee boxes, more handheld cameras, more Steadicams, more hard cameras, a tethered drone, and numerous jib cameras around the course. Oh, and there is a boatcam.

NBC Sports is on hand for Golf Central as well, and the Japanese Consortium has its own unilateral cameras following Hideki Matsuyama. Yesterday afternoon, American Scottie Scheffler took home the gold in dramatic fashion (Tommy Fleetwood from Great Britain snagged silver, and Matsuyama took bronze). The women's tournament tees off on Aug. 7.
