Applicaster introduces new friendly features and engaging layouts in BabyTV Video App

Designed with toddlers in mind, the BabyTV Video App - developed and serviced by Applicaster - features a flexible layout, enabling fast store-free remote updates to the app

Since it first launched in 2011, BabyTV Video App has been the perfect companion for families on the go, keeping little ones entertained with the characters, songs, stories, and rhymes they love from BabyTV Channel (Fox Networks Group).

SaaS company Applicaster has launched the 2016 edition of the Video app with new features to facilitate intuitive interaction and engagement with the channel's shows and early learning conceptual games.

User experience is improved through clickable interactive content boxes, long-press-play' navigation, and new show-focused and VOD listings themed app screens. The main novelty is the new My BabyTV channel' feature, which allows parents to create their own channel by selecting or downloading their favorite shows, songs and rhymes all at the touch of a button. Enhanced safety and usability features include a parental lock on settings areas as well as a baby lock in the player for uninterrupted video viewing.

A new main capability Applicaster has implemented is the flexible app layout, which enables content rich channels, such as BabyTV, to quickly adjust the app's look and feel, and its featured content screens. This is done via native updates to the app's configurations and settings. The main advantages of this capability are that updates can be made remotely; they can be easily performed in-house, and do not necessarily require a store version update. In this way, the app can quickly reflect the availability of new programming and feature promoted content items as needed.

In line with this, we build more and more SaaS modules that empower broadcasters to easily manage their TV apps, content presentation within the app, and interactivity, so that they can quickly build new content bundles and programming campaigns , said Idan Maron, VP of Business Development at Applicaster.

As in previous versions of the app, favorite show episodes can be downloaded for airplane mode viewing, items can be added to create a favorites' list, as new content is added on a regular basis. The BabyTV Video App is available on iOS and Android (https://www.babytv.com/mobile.aspx), and in a multitude of languages including English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Mandarin and Turkish, amongst many others.
