Britain?s leading natural history channel Eden has commissioned a supersized second series of the hugely successful David Attenborough?s Natural Curiosities.
The 10x30? series will be produced by Humble Bee Films and will once again unite Eden with Britain?s most loved naturalist and presenter.
Each episode features two creatures with curiously distinctive adaptations that link together with a common theme. From the emperor penguin and the wood frog, both of which survive in conditions so cold they seem to defy the laws of nature, to the rhino and the hedgehog - two animals that hide behind seemingly impenetrable armoured coats.
The first series of David Attenborough?s Natural Curiosities was the highest ever rating programme on Eden. The whole series reached 1.6 million individuals, with each episode bringing in new viewers to the channel. The second series has been commissioned by UKTV?s Senior Commissioning Editor, Catherine Catton and ordered by Eden?s General Manager, Adrian Wills. Stephen Dunleavy from Humble Bee Films is the executive producer for the series.
In series one David Attenborough revealed the stories of the creatures whose biology intrigues him the most. In this longer 10x30? series Sir David will continue to shine the spotlight on some of nature?s most extraordinary and baffling species. David Attenborough?s Natural Curiosities will TX in Q4 2013 and will be complemented by Eden?s extensive and exclusive back catalogue of Sir David?s landmark series including Planet Earth, Life and Madagascar.
