Automatic Cable Labelling from Stardraw

Stardraw.com is pleased to announce the addition of what has been undoubtedly one of the most requested features by Stardraws customer base: Cable Labelling.

Introduced as part of Stardraws unique Feature-per-month program, Cable Labelling is a new tool that automatically displays the cable Start Label and End Label values on your drawing as soon as you have entered a start value. So, once you have connected your products using the Cable and Dogleg tools and set the values of those attributes, they will automatically display close to the start and end points of the connection as shown in the image. Furthermore, cable labels maintain their position relative to the start and end points if the cable or dogleg changes; for example if you move the symbol to which it is connected, your cable label moves too.

According to CEO, David Snipp, this is an extremely important enhancement. The whole issue of cable management is a very important part of systems integration, and an area that can quickly become a headache if not properly handled. The new Cable Labelling feature within Stardraw is a powerful, flexible tool that enables systems integrators to clearly identify their cables start and end points in a manner of their choosing in a fraction of the time of traditional methods, and with a far greater degree of accuracy. In conjunction with auto-incrementing cable numbering tools this is undoubtedly a key productivity aid. Future enhancements will see the support of label templates so that users can not only see the labels on the drawing, but they will also be able to print their cable labels directly from within Stardraw.
