Enhanced Coverage of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Georgia Increases Comprehensiveness of INPADOC

Recent additions of Malaysian, Saudi Arabian and Georgian patents increase the comprehensiveness of INPADOCDB and INPAFAMDB and provides unique coverage of certain documents published only in those countries. Here are the highlights at a glance:

Malaysia (MY)

- 30,000 additional records recently added; total number of MY records now > 96,000

- Over 73,000 records published since 2003

- Coverage from 1953; number of records per year began to increase in the 1970s

- 15% of records unique to MY

- Priorities for records published since 2003:

- US priority - 40%

- EP priority - 24%

- JP priority - 23%

- MY priority - 16%

- IPC and/or CPC classifications in 96% of all records since 2003

- English titles and abstracts in all records

Saudi Arabia (SA)

- 5,300 records recently added, bringing the total to over 8,400

- Coverage from 1995; annual number of patents increased significantly beginning in 2004

- 500 new patents per year

- 10% of records unique to SA

- Priorities of records published:

- US priority - 40%

- SA priority - 19%

- EP priority - 11%

- IPC and/or CPC classifications in 90% of all records

- English language titles in 80% of all records, and English abstracts in 55%

Georgia (GE)

- 3,200 records recently added, bringing the total to over 9,200

- Coverage from 1993. Newly added records fill gaps of 1993 to 1999 and 2009 to 2014

- 60% of records are unique to Georgia

- Priorities

- Most records have a GE priority

- Over 15% of records have a US priority

- IPC classifications in all records; CPC classification in 40% of records

- English language titles and abstracts in all records
