RT to air live in-depth interviews with Presidential candidates

The Katie Hannon Interview Live airs tonight & Wednesday night at 7pm

As part of RT 's comprehensive election campaign coverage, journalist Katie Hannon will sit down with each of the Presidential candidates for a live one-to-one television interview this week.

The brand-new two-part series, The Katie Hannon Interview Live, will broadcast at 7pm tonight (Monday 13th October) and Wednesday 15th October on RT One and RT Player.

Katie will get up close and personal with the two presidential hopefuls, Heather Humphreys and Catherine Connolly. Both candidates will face questions live in studio in individual interviews as Katie drills down into the issues of the campaign.

Across the half hour programmes, Katie will interrogate each candidates record, their vision, and their values, to help voters decide where to give their support. As the battle for the ras is well underway, these interviews will give voters a comprehensive insight into their choice on polling day.

Speaking ahead of the interviews Katie Hannon said: Presidential elections don't come around very often so I feel privileged to be able to conduct the only in-depth one to one interviews with the candidates on RT television. We know from election studies that the majority of voters don't decide who they will vote for until the last week of an election campaign so it's the perfect time to put the candidates through their paces to help viewers decide who should become the tenth President of Ireland.

Tonight, Katie will interview Fine Gael candidate Heather Humphreys. Her interview with Independent candidate Catherine Connolly will broadcast live on Wednesday evening.
