Europe chooses Sony to equip its live studios and its municipal elections train

The French national radio station Europe1 recently announced that it has fully equipped its studios and its new project the municipal elections train with Sony equipment.

Although sound specialists first and foremost, large radio stations are increasingly looking to visual aids to meet their listeners requirements and develop their brand. As a result of this trend, stations are constantly on the lookout for higher performing equipment, both in terms of image quality and products practicality. Against this backdrop, Europe1 wanted to equip its recording studios with robotic cameras in order to complement their audio content with live or recorded images.

As you would expect, Europe1 wanted a solution that offered optimum handling ability and discretion so that it could be easily incorporated into this world of sound. The station opted for the Sony BRC series. "We began by testing the project in the main recording studio. The results were so successful that we now have 28 cameras spread around six studios. They can all be controlled from a single studio image this is essential for us. The equipment chosen by Europe1 is as follows:

16 BRC-300P cameras

4 BRC-Z700 cameras

8 BRC-H900 cameras

The BRC-H900 camera is the latest release and is the new flagship product for the series. Thanks to its three 2.07 megapixel Exmor CMOS 1/2 sensors, the camera is able to deliver stunning image quality, but is nevertheless very compact and quiet essential characteristics in this type of environment. With a powerful 14x optical zoom and innovative image stabilisation functions, the BRC-H900 captures superb video content in Full HD. The cameras high F10 sensitivity allows it to film in low light conditions, meaning that Europe1 does not have to invest in new lighting fixtures.
