The Inaugural Launch of Dolby Atmos at Caay Cineplexes in Singapore

Cathay Cineplexes brings Dolby Atmos lifelike storytelling to moviegoers Singapore, January 17, 2013 Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) announced today that Cathay Cineplexes, one of the leading multiplex operators in Singapore, installed the Dolby Atmos&8482 sound platform in Singapore. I, Frankenstein (Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment), starring Aaron Eckhart and Yvonne Strahovski, will be showcased in Dolby Atmos at Digital Xtreme, the new and iconic auditorium at Cathay Cineplex Jem today.

Dolby Atmos unleashes the potential of sound in storytelling by giving filmmakers the creative freedom to easily place or move sounds anywhere in the movie theatre to create a lifelike, virtual reality of sound and the most engaging cinema experience ever. Dolby Atmos has quickly become the preferred choice for next-generation cinema sound among major studios, award-winning filmmakers, and exhibitors around the world.

For the first time ever in South East Asia, Cathay Cineplexes will debut a loyalty program exclusively for Dolby Atmos movie titles. For every movie ticket they purchase for a viewing in Dolby Atmos, moviegoers will get a stamp on their Cathay Cineplexes loyalty card; and they will be rewarded for every five and 10 movie tickets purchased between June 1, 2014, and December 31, 2014. Popcorn and drinks will be on the house once moviegoers have accumulated five stamps, and a pair of complimentary movie passes will be given with every 10 stamps accumulated.

The forthcoming movies to be screened in Dolby Atmos at Cathay Cineplexes in the coming months include 300: Rise of an Empire (Mar. 6, Warner Bros.); Mr. Peabody and Sherman (Mar. 6, DreamWorks Animation); Rio 2 (Apr. 10, Twentieth Century Fox); X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 22, Twentieth Century Fox); and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Jul. 10, Twentieth Century Fox).
