Behind the Mic: Fox Reveals Talent Lineup for FS's Fox Sports Live; ESPN Adds FiveirtyEight.com s Nate Silver

Fox has unveiled the lineup for the soon-to-launch Fox Sports 1's nightly news/opinion/highlights program, Fox Sports Live. The program will feature a panel, hosted by Charissa Thompson, and featuring NBA great Gary Payton, past NFL stars Donovan McNabb and Ephraim Salaam, and tennis legend Andy Roddick (who was announced last month). In addition to the panel, Fox Sports Live will be anchored by former TSN SportsCentre hosts Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole. Breaking news and updates from throughout the day will be delivered by Don Bell and Ryan Field, with contributions from correspondents Molly McGrath and Julie Stewart-Binks

Leading statistician/analyst/author Nate Silver will join ESPN later this year, bringing his popular website, FiveThirtyEight.com, with him. The site's new incarnation (it has been hosted by The New York Times since 2010) will feature sports content, as well as address politics (including the 2014 and 2016 elections), economics, culture, science and technology, and other topics. Silver will serve as the editor-in-chief of the site and will build a team of his own in the coming months (similar to Bill Simmons' Grantland). Silver will also contribute to several ESPN network programs (ESPN has yet to confirm if Silver will be featured on Keith Olbmerann's upcoming nightly show), as well as regularly contribute to ABC News outlets during election years and key political events

Fox has rolled out its on-air-talent lineup for the upcoming college football season, with, host Erin Andrews, analyst Eddie George, and rules analyst Mike Pereira returning to the Fox College Saturday pregame show. New to the show will be analysts Joel Klatt, Petros Papadakis, and FOXSports.com writer Clay Travis. College football games on the FOX broadcast network will be preceded by a 30-minute edition of Fox College Satruday featuring George and Klatt as analysts, with Rob Stone hosting. Stone also hosts pregame coverage leading up to Thursday evening games on FOX Sports 1, sitting alongside analysts Coy Wire (@CoyWire) and Ryan Nece (@ryannece).

Also returning as lead broadcast team will be play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson and analyst Charles Davis (joined by sideline reporter Kristina Pink). Calling Thursday night games on FOX Sports 1 are Justin Kutcher on play-by-play, Klatt and Papadakis as analysts and Pink on the sidelines. Other broadcast crews for FOX Sports 1, FSN and FCS games include play-by-play broadcaster Craig Bolerjack (@BuckleUpBoler) with analyst Joey Harrington and Nece on sidelines; Kutcher with analyst James Bates and Brady Poppinga on the field, and Adam Alexander on play-by-play with Chris Simms providing analysis. Stone, Wire and George, Klatt or Papadakis will provide halftime and between-game updates during FOX Sports 1's Saturday games. Pac-12 Networks unveiled its talent lineup for the 2013 college football season. Rick Neuheisel, Ronnie Lott, Jeremy Bloom, Glenn Parker and Curtis Conway along with former USC assistant coach Yogi Roth will come back for their second season as part of Pac-12 Networks football analyst team. Meanwhile, former NFL and University of Iowa defensive lineman Anthony Herron joins the crew as a game analyst. Broadcast teams are set with Ted Robinson/Glenn Parker, Kevin Calabro/Yogi Roth, Roxy Bernstein/Anthony Herron and JB Long/Jeremy Bloom in the booth. (Cynopsis Sports)

Former Denver Broncos great Terrell Davis recently signed a two-year contract with the NFL Network as an analyst and reporter, a deal that will give him a much higher profile than he had during his previous time (2006-09) with the network. He will be a major part of Inside Training Camp Live and NFL Total Access during the preseason, and then will serve on NFL AM, the network's live weekday morning show, starting in September. He will be a key contributor to the important Monday program, which will recap all Sunday NFL action. (Denver Post)
