Sreejesh Nair, uno de los ingenieros de sonido con m s proyecci n en India, ha escogido el plug-in Halo Upmix de Nugen Audio para un upmix de est reo a 5.1/7.1/9.1. Nair est utilizando Halo en una amplia variedad de proyectos de cine, incluyendo las bandas sonoras de conocido t tulos de Bollywood.
Con m s de 250 pel culas en su haber, Nair ha trabajado como mezclador senior para Rajkamal Studios (FutureWorks) en Mumbai, adem s de ser un especialista muy reconocido en soluciones de Avid. Mientras que la mayor parte de su trabajo ha estado basado en pel culas de Bollywood, tambi n ha trabajado como mezclador de las versiones para el mercado en india de estudios de Hollywood como Warner, Disney, Paramount, y otros. El ingeniero de sonido eligi Halo Upmix despu s de buscar una herramienta de upmixing que no s lo ofreciera salida surround y que sonara lo m s cerca posible del original, sino que tambi n le permitiera trabajar de manera eficiente y ahorrar tiempo.
Nair ha destacado que los avances en tecnolog a han dado a los ingenieros de audio m s flexibilidad para entregar mezclas complejas, pero las nuevas eficiencias significan que se espera que ofrezcan mucho m s en menos tiempo, sin abandonar la inspiraci n y nuevas ideas. Mis colegas y yo descubrimos por primera vez Halo Upmix en IBC 2015, y enseguida pudimos ver que Halo es una herramienta extremadamente inmersiva. Sab a que hab a encontrado la herramienta de upmixing que estaba buscando cuando escuch las reverberaciones, pads e instrumentos tras pasar por Halo .
Nair reconoce tambi n que Halo ofrece controles exclusivos de gesti n de canales centrales y densidad espacial. Adem s, proporciona una funci n Exact para crear un downmix que es casi id ntico al original.
Nair agreg que una de las caracter sticas m s valiosas de Halo es su capacidad para mezclar hacia audio envolvente Dolby 7.1, y ahora, 9.1. Esta flexibilidad de formato, y el control que Halo me brinda sobre el sonido terminado es absolutamente esencial en mi trabajo. En lugar de simplemente realizar un upmix completo, soy capaz de hacer las cosas de manera diferente, por ejemplo, podr a a adir distorsi n arm nica y reverbs a un elemento y luego hacer el upmix como una se al paralela que podr a ser mezclada con la se al original, creando un una tonalidad mucho m s cohesiva y abierta y el espaciamiento que el instrumento demanda. Halo reacciona de forma diferente en funci n del contenido arm nico para mezclar sonidos, el movimiento en el espacio envolvente es muy an logo y tiene un elemento de aparente aleatoriedad que me encanta .
