WRAL-FM's Kyle Smelser enrolls Kelly Clarkson in playing the College of Hollywood Knowledge for MIX 101.5 while he was in L.A. taping a segment of her show.
MIX Mornings Personality Kyle Smelser had a whirlwind week in December. In the midst of a major annual work event, he also made an appearance on the other side of the country, also for a good cause.
Community focused 24/7. Literally! said CBC Radio Brand Manager Chris Edge. Kyle was in the process of fundraising for Duke Children's and then jumped on a flight to L.A., taped this segment with Kelly and then flew back to Raleigh. He landed at 7:30 in the morning and drove to the studio to finish the show! Road Warrior! Watch him next month and see what we're up to on MIX 101.5!
Smesler taped the segment with Kelly Clarkson to celebrate the Good Neighbor segment in Raleigh. The episode will air in mid-January.
While he was in L.A. with Clarkson, Smelser made great additional use of his time, pitting Clarkson against his MIX Mornings cohort Sarah King in the College of Hollywood Knowledge.
Two things I want to tell you, he told MIX listeners on social media, Kelly is a wonderful person. You never know how celebrities are going to be when you actually meet them but she exceeded expectations! Also, after I taped my portion of the show I was able to come back and interview her. I had one thing in mind - to have her play the College of Hollywood Knowledge!
The battle aired on MIX on Monday, December 19, 2022, with Clarkson besting King 4-2.
