#GoProGirls Take International Women s Day By Storm

Throughout the entire year, we celebrate #GoProGirls who pursue their passions, chase adventure and live life to the fullest. International Women's Day gives us yet another opportunity to celebrate and recognize the strong women who work daily to advance the world socially, politically and economically, and who help break barriers of gender inequality.

International Women's Day is today, meaning it's time to bust out some of our best content to celebrate the badass women in the #GoProFamily. From professional surfers and motocross riders, to youth-based groups teaching girls to skateboard, women around the world have incredible stories to share - and we couldn't be more proud to be part of it.

We'll be featuring outstanding #GoProGirls across @GoPro social media handles throughout the entire day, but check out a few highlights in our #IWD roundup, below:

GoPro for a Cause, our charitable program dedicated to impact storytelling for nonprofits around the world, is excited to launch a fundraiser and photo project today for Skate Like a Girl. The organization uses the practice of skateboarding to empower youth, break down barriers and gender stereotypes, and create a collective of girls and women who strive for social justice.

We commissioned professional photographer and GoPro ambassador, Robbie Crawford, to help us share Skate Like a Girl's mission and story with the world. Visit GoPro For A Cause to see more of Robbie's incredible photography and learn about the Skate Like a Girl organization.

Puerto Rican athlete, Tarah Geiger, has tried her hand at a number of sports - including baseball and surfing - but found her true talent in the male-dominated sport of Motocross. Since her pro debut in 2003, she has claimed a podium position at every major contest and took home the gold medal at the X Games' first-ever Women's Moto X event.

In this teaser from the upcoming episode of GoPro's DRIVEN, hear Tarah share her journey from playing baseball with the boys in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, through discovering Motocross and ultimately taking on the challenge of top competition at Endurocross.

U.K.-based Rachel Atherton is arguably the best female downhill mountain biker in the world. Since 2008, she's won five UCI World Cup titles and three World Champion titles; and in June 2016, Atherton became the first woman to win 10 consecutive rounds of the World Cup, achieving the unprecedented feat of winning every round in a World Cup season.

French professional surfer, Johanna Defey, has been surfing competitively since age 10. After qualifying for the World Championship tour in 2014, she has become a familiar face in surfing's inner circle and a top five member of the elite Championship Tour.

Record-breaking, award-winning, Italian skydiver, BASE jumper and wingsuit flyer, Roberta Mancino, has one of the most impressive resumes in the aerial athletics business. She has participated in more than 7,000 skydives and hundreds of BASE jumps, has built a successful career as a professional model and appeared on 60 Minutes Sports and Conan. We've been lucky enough to work with Roberta as a GoPro athlete, and have helped capture some of the most incredible aerial footage we've ever seen.
