8 of every 10 mobile lines in Spain have Internet connection Mobile Internet access lines come very close to 40 million. Optical fiber to the home (FTTH) exceeded 5 million lines in January.

Park mobile lines that offer mobile broadband voice services accumulated in January a total 39,78 million lines, representing 6.7% more than in January 2016, according to the latest data relating to the telecommunications market published by the National Commission of the markets and the competition (CNMC). 182 thousand new lines were added in January.

Exclusive data lines were 1.7 million and the penetration, considering also the voice band lines mobile broadband, was 89.3 lines per 100 inhabitants, which represents 5.4 points more than a year ago. He 84.5% of the lines of voice with band wide mobile is concentrated in the three main operators, Movistar, Orange (included Jazztel) and Vodafone (included Ono).

Fixed broadband

In January the Park of fixed broadband increased in 72.214 lines until a total of 13.8 million and a share of 29.7 lines per 100 inhabitants compared the 28.5 from a year ago.

DSL lines decreased this month in 98.184. On the other hand, the lines of HFCs increased in 5.581 lines. Finally, FTTH total surpassed the 5 million, with a growth in the month of 164.817 lines. 60.8% of the total of FTTH lines corresponds to Movistar, with a park of 3 million lines.

At annual level, concerning January 2016, emphasizes the increase of 1.8 million FTTH lines, facing the loss of 1.3 million lines using DSL technology.

In January, nearly all operators added new fixed broadband lines.

Almost 95% of the total of lines focuses on the three main operators, Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono).

Mobile lines

The Park of mobile lines added 9.477 lines in January. The increase in postpaid (+ 164.165 lines) compensated the fall of the prepayment (- 154.688 lines). The month ended with a turnover of 51.2 million mobile lines, 0.9% more than a year ago.

The penetration was 110,2 lines per 100 inhabitants, a point higher than the value of a year ago.

M2M lines stood at 4.4 million lines, up by 19.2% more than a year ago.

In January behaved 553.008 mobile numbers, 13.6% more than the volume registered in the same month in 2016.

Los OMV, Vodafone (que incluye Ono desde julio de 2014) y Grupo MASMOV!L (que incluye Mas M vil, Yoigo y Pepephone desde octubre de 2016) registraron saldos netos de portabilidad positivos. En contraposici n, Movistar y Orange (que incluye Jazztel desde agosto de 2015) presentaron saldo negativo.

Por ltimo, en enero de 2017, el total de l neas fijas aument en 47.358. El mes cerr con un total de 19,1 millones de l neas, lo que representa una penetraci n de 41,2 l neas por cada 100 habitantes.
