At 13:25 GMT Friday 13 December - we were informed that all the teams had arrived at the South Pole. After 4 weeks and 200km this marks the end of an epic adventure which has unfolded throughout the last year.

From training camps in Iceland and tough selection processes to cold weather chambers, press events and the expedition itself the teams of injured service men and women have pushed themselves to the limit. Each one of them motivated by their experiences, they have raised vital funds and recognition for the Charity.

Ed Parker, Expedition Director and Walking With The Wounded Co-Founder said:

The money we are raising is going to help young service men and women who have been injured get into work. That is why we are doing this, to try and highlight that they do need our support. So please keep helping us, keep supporting us.

Our Project Lead Peter McCormick said:

Today is a really special day. To know that we have kept the WWTW teams connected on every step of their journey to reach the South Pole is an amazing feeling. This has been one of the best most technologically advanced expeditions of its kind. Our role as Communication Partner allowed the Walking With The Wounded teams to remain connected with each other and with the world. I hope everyone associated with Arqiva feels proud of what has been achieved. Apart from supporting a great cause and gaining some wonderful exposure and credibility for the company, we have done what we said we would do and I am immensely pleased and proud that we have done so.

The expedition remains vigilant as it still needs to get itself safely off Antarctica and heading home and it will still be using our communications systems over the next few days to enable the post- South Pole element of the expedition. Fingers crossed that the SOS functionality will remain unused!
