Hyderabad Metro Rail operational with Thales signalling system

The Hyderabad Metro Rail, world's largest public private partnership mode venture for an elevated metro rail, was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao on 28 November 2017. The Metro Rail equipped with the Advanced Signalling & Train Control technology by Thales covers over 30 km: Miyapur-Ameerpet (13 km) of corridor-I and Ameerpet-Nagole (17 km) of corridor-III.

In December 2012, Larsen & Toubro appointed Thales in India for providing India's first Signalling System with Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) and Integrated Communications and supervision (ICS) systems for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. In addition to the CBTC signalling, Thales has delivered its comprehensive ICS package, composed by Data Transmission, Passenger Announcement, Passenger Information Display, Fault Reporting Facilities, Office Automation and Information Technology, CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Detection, Master Clock, Telephony, Voice Recording and Radio Tetra systems. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is a landmark in India and will transform mass rapid transit systems in the country.
