Ringling College Student Ailish Reilly Shoots and Scores Plota Productions Studio Seion

Sarasota, FL - Ringling College of Art and Design student Ailish Reilly won a studio shoot-out held on October 15, 2013, and will be awarded a full-day all-resource access studio session at Plota Productions studios in Sarasota to shoot a project of her own creation.

Troy Plota and the Plota Productions crew introduced their Studio Production Workflow Process to Ringling College students on October 15, 2013 and began the session by throwing the Ringling Digital photography students attending into a Live advertising shoot scenario where pairs of students had 20 seconds or ten frames to capture each other on the professionally lit set.

Ailish and other Ringling students fashion photography were be featured at the PH_ashion1121 show, with a Runway Show at 8pm in the Diane Roskamp Exhibition Hall on the Ringling College of Art & Design Campus.

Its always a pleasure to work with students as passionate about photography as the Ringling students are, said Troy Plota, owner and founder of Plota Productions. We have had several students from Ringling intern with us and it is most certainly a mutually beneficial engagement - Their fresh viewpoints are enlightening to us and they get a very quick and deep immersion into the myriad complexities and fast pace of modern commercial production. We look forward to growing our relationship with Ringling and the Photography and Digital Imaging Program in the years to come.

Ive always been impressed and inspired by the professionals Ringling College brings in to give us, as students, a real take on whats out there in the field, said Ringling College Digital Imaging student Ailish Reilly. Troy and his team brought serious energy into the studio. The fact that Troy looks for new and exciting challenges in photography really pushed me to keep working on my own endeavors, no matter how difficult. Ive been working on a project for a few years now that deals with a lot of unknowns in photography and music, and having complete control over lighting is key to making the connection between image and sound happen. Being given the chance to work in a professional studio, with someone who has that kind of control over light, is an amazing opportunity.

The Ringling College of Art and Design Photography and Digital Imaging program teaches students to discover the power of their own photographic voice along with the tools of the trade. From the creative, controlled environment of a studio shoot to the experiential side of going on location, Ringling students get to explore photography from every angle. From traditional darkroom techniques, to the endless possibilities stemming from the creative manipulation of images using the newest computer software, Ringling College enables students to explore their artistic freedom and the options available to todays professional photographer.
