Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You climbed to No 1 one on Billboard Global 200 Chart, a chart launched in 2020 ranking songs based on streaming and sales activity globally.

Billboard reports that All I Want for Christmas Is You jingled from No 5 to No 1 with 64.5 million streams dating 25 November to 1 December.

The holiday classic is leading the chart early this year, dated 10 December, compared to the previous two years when it peaked on 18 and 19 December.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU': BILLBOARD CHART-TOPPER Carey's quintessential pop song originally released in 1994, re-entered the Billboard Hot100 chart dating 26 November at No 25.

Despite being released on Carey's Merry Christmas album in 1994, the song became popular over the years. It reached the top 10 for the first time in 1997 on the Hot 100. Fast-forward to 2019, the song reached No 1 on the Hot 100 for three weeks.

The following year, the Christmas anthem took the No 2 spot and returned to No 1 in 2021 for a total of six weeks, becoming the first song in the Hot 100 to lead in its district chart runs.

According to People, the Lamb Queen became the first artist to top the charts in four separate decades.

All I want for Christmas Is You made history in 2021 when it became the first-holiday song to earn a The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Diamond Award. RIAA certified the 1994 track diamond status for selling over 10 million copies in the United States.
