As previously reported by SVG, Rob Hyland, has officially been named the coordinating producer of NBC Sunday Night Football. Hyland, who who joined NBC Sports in 1997 and has produced many of the network's biggest events, takes over primetime TV's long-running No. 1 show from Fred Gaudelli, who joined Amazon Prime Video as executive producer of Thursday Night Football earlier this year.

Hyland's first game in the role will be the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in primetime on Thursday, Aug. 4, alongside director Drew Esocoff and featuring the new SNF announce team of Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth, and Melissa Stark. On Thursday, Sept. 8, NBC Sports presents the NFL Kickoff Game on NBC, Universo and Peacock.
Working on a wide range of sports and properties throughout his NBC Sports career, Rob has consistently excelled, producing dynamic and compelling coverage, said Pete Bevacqua, NBC Sports Chairman. We are excited to have Rob in the chair for Sunday Night Football, to carry on the legacy of best-in-class game presentation and storytelling that have made SNF destination viewing as primetime's #1 show for a historic 11 years running.
An 18-time Sports Emmy winner, Hyland will continue as the producer of NBC's primetime Olympics coverage - an assignment he began with last summer's Tokyo Olympics and continued in February with the Winter Olympics in Beijing. For the past four NFL seasons (2018-21), he served as the coordinating producer of Football Night in America - sports' most-watched weekly studio show. In addition, Hyland led the network's Notre Dame Football coverage for the last 13 seasons, and oversaw two Triple Crowns during his 10 years as coordinating producer of horse racing. Hyland joined NBC Sports in 1997 from Williams College, where he started as an offensive lineman on the football team.
Hyland's work on NBC's NFL coverage dates back to the debut of Sunday Night Football in 2006. He's also served as coordinating producer of Thursday Night Football in 2016 and 2017.
Just a year ago he was named the producer of NBC Olympics' primetime show and held that position on both this past summer's Tokyo Olympics and the recently completed Winter games in Beijing. Hyland was worked 11 Olympics with NBC Sports, previously serving as the lead producer for two of the Games' most-watched sports - track & field since the 2012 London Olympics and figure skating since the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014.
Hyland's accolades include earning 18 Emmy Awards during his tenure at NBC Sports. Those trophies came as part of production teams as the Coordinating Producer for NBC's Triple Crown and Breeders' Cup horse racing coverage. NBC has earned five Eclipse Awards, three Emmy Awards, and nine Emmy nominations for its horse racing coverage under Hyland. He's overseen production of two Triple Crown-winning runs: American Pharoah in 2015 and Justify in 2018.
Gaudelli, meanwhile, is remaining on the NBC Sports executive team to serve as a key contributor to NBC Sunday Night Football's editorial and production efforts.
