Cisco Systems, Inc., Liberty Global Executives to Highlight Two Days of General Sessions

JULY 15, 2014 (Exton, PA) Rob Lloyd and Mike Fries, two thought leaders with a global impact on the cable industry, will headline an impressive list of featured speakers when SCTE Cable-Tec Expo returns to Denver Sept. 22-25.

Lloyd, president, development and sales for Cisco Systems, Inc., will discuss the evolution of the consumer experience and the role of the cloud in the emerging model on Tuesday, Sept. 23, while Fries, president and CEO of Liberty Global, will engage in a keynote conversation with Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO of Comcast Cable and chair of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 Program Committee on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The appearances by Lloyd and Fries will highlight a pair of general sessions that will include additional insights with a who's who of industry technologists and other influencers.

"Rob Lloyd's keynote remarks and Tony Werner's conversation with Mike Fries will offer this year's Cable-Tec Expo attendees truly advanced and global perspectives from three of the most influential executives who are shaping the future of cable," said Daniel Howard, senior vice president and CTO of SCTE. Lloyd, who will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 23, is responsible for Cisco's development and sales efforts, as the company creates tighter connections between customer requirements and innovation, along with ensuring greater speed-to-market. Lloyd's organization manages the alignment and acceleration of Cisco's technology innovation to enable a faster response to market transitions, increased customer relevance, and growth. With 19 years of global leadership experience with Cisco, Lloyd has managed the majority of the company's worldwide businesses. He is also a member of the Cisco Executive Committee, which sets strategic direction for each of Cisco's market segments.

Fries, who will take the stage on Wednesday, Sept. 24, has built Liberty Global into the largest international cable company in the world, providing 25 million customers with 49 million video, voice and internet services. Fries was a founding member of the management team which launched the companys international expansion more than two decades ago, and has served in various strategic and operating capacities since that time. He is a member of Liberty Globals board of directors and its two-person executive committee along with the companys chairman, Dr. John C. Malone.

Beginning with a Wireless and DOCSIS 3.1 Symposium and other events on Monday, Sept. 22, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo once again promises to be the leading venue for helping the cable telecommunications industry and its workforce to reduce costs, deploy new services and increase customer satisfaction.
